Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Receiving and Parts Distribution Lead (RPD Lead) directs daily activities in the Receiving and Parts Distribution areas of the warehouse. The RPD Lead works closely with Warehouse Clerks to ensure goals are met and standards are adhered to. The RPD Lead is responsible for assisting the Warehouse Supervisor and Manager with training, scheduling, and communicating job expectations for their respective area of the warehouse.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Receiving & Parts Distribution Lead Salary Range: $22.50 - 26.98/hr

Essential Functions Statement(s) 

  • Assists Warehouse Manager and Supervisor with daily warehouse operations including but not limited to Receiving, PDD, Put-away, Deliveries for the warehouse floor and employee delegation.
  • Interacts with the areas of Logistics, Purchasing, Production, Repair, Sales guaranteeing the execution of the daily tasks the operation requires.
  • Contributes to employee Sound Checks.
  • Communicates effectively with warehouse personnel; explains tasks patiently and answers questions when necessary.
  • Documents and elevates employee issues and concerns.
  • Leads, fosters, and contributes to 5S and continuous improvement initiatives in the warehouse.
  • Resolves process issues and amends processes where necessary.
  • Assists in warehouse processes to ensure goals are met.
  • Carries out and ensures the correct and timely data transactions entries of goods inbound and outbound the WH system (Syspro) and retains evidence of records (PDF and/or Photographic).
  • Updates KPI reports and monitors the performance of the assigned teams and processes, identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Conducts huddles at start-of-shift and during the shift. Creates End of the Shift Report.
  • Ensures warehouse clean up schedules are followed daily.
  • Collaborates with other warehouse leads to ensure overall goals of the warehouse are being met.
  • Coordinates job rotation and cross training within Receiving & PDD, as well as other areas of the warehouse.
  • Assists with time keeping, timesheet submission, and ensures proper break scheduling.
  • Monitors the performance of staff and raises and documents any issues or further training requirements.
  • Warehouse Leads also track the performance of the warehouse overall to ensure that it’s running smoothly.
  • Makes recommendations regarding proper storage, inventory and warehousing procedures and improvements in warehouse efficiency.
  • Monitors and contributes to warehouse metrics and KPI’s.
  • Performs inventory cycle counts for the assigned areas.
  • Trains new employees in the methods and responsibilities of the respective department.
  • Assists in ensuring the company policies and procedures are being adhered to.
  • Maintains the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) regarding warehouse functions.
  • Assists in all other duties assigned.

Qualifications

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience:  High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required.

Minimum of 1 – 3 years related experience and/or training required.

Certifications & Licenses: Ability to qualify to drive a company vehicle. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must have a clean driving record for company insurance coverage.  Must be forklift certified. Must be a Taylor Guitars Certified Training or have ability to become certified in next round of training sessions.

Other Requirements: Ability to climb a ladder while holding up to a 35-pound box and reaching from ladder to shelf and pulling a 35-pound box possibly over one’s head.
